Liz Burke is a documentary maker and producer, whose work has screened at international
film festivals, and been commissioned and acquired by Australian and international
broadcasters. Her credits as Producer include the following; ‘Defiant Lives’ (2016) finalist in
the 2017 Sydney Film Festival Best Australian Documentary category, screened on ABC,
‘Helen Garner’s Monkey Grip’ (2014), commissioned by ABC Arts, winner of 2015 ATOM
Awards, Best Arts Documentary, ‘Missing in the Land of Gods’, finalist for Best International
Documentary 2012 IDFA Festival, Best Australian Documentary, 2012 Sydney Film Festival.
Liz is currently developing documentary work with SBS-TV. 

Liz teaches into the BA (Film and Television) at Swinburne University of Technology,
Melbourne. Her research interests include the essay film, hybrid non-fiction filmic forms, film
and feminism, film and disability, film and the non-human subject.
